Hello 5th graders!
I have enjoyed reading your comments. The more we learn about technology in the future of education, the more I feel it really isn't about the technology. It's about developing skills as learners to be able to handle the technology of the future.
I came across another video as I was researching this topic of technology and 21st century learning. It sends a very strong message to teachers. Just like the article we read today stated, teachers need to be more than the dispensers of education. They need to be facilitators. Personally, that scares me and excites me. I love seeing what 5th grade minds are capable of, but I also have a hard time giving up the control. I have to remember how smart you all are and remember, when you are given choices you are more likely to perform at a higher level!
Enjoy the video. What is 21st Century Education
That video is like the Did You Know video. I like how it talks about what the teachers and the students have to differently to work in the twenty-first century. I want to learn with technology but I want to be able to do, knowing what I'm doing while using it.
ReplyDeleteMrs.Stubbendick let us be kids. Let us explore technology. Let us go on our own for a little bit. If it doesn't end up well, let us work on it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that we can explore technology and have fun with it. It helps us a lot when we are older and we need to use it a lot more than now. After all the technology is changing rapidly,so I hope that we understand it more before it changes again.
ReplyDeleteIt surprises me that there are more than 450,000 words in the dictionary, but it also doesn't because of all the words we use. Every year the dictionary adds a few new words, so that's probably why there's so many words. That's an amazing video.
ReplyDeleteWOW! That video really surprises me. The school classroom has for sure changed over the years! India is really growing, as it told us in the video. The world is getting bigger and bigger in population!
